Therapeutic recommendations and other official documents are numerous, dense, frequently lengthy, and published by various organizations. They therefore tend to be scattered throughout the web. An innovative therapeutic decision-making instrument, VIDAL Recos enables retrieval of the pertinent documents on a given subject as well as validated rapid answers to the questions arising in daily professional practice.

 

This website provides practitioners with three resources:

1. Recos: VIDAL syntheses of the therapeutic recommendations.

To date, over a hundred validated therapeutic strategies for the diseases most encountered in general practice are made available.

Each treatment strategy is summarized in the form of an interactive algorithm which guides the reader, step by step, through diagnosis and treatment monitoring. Recommendation grades, correlated with the available levels of scientific proof in the literature, support the text whenever possible.

2. A search module facilitates access to French and international recommendations.

VIDAL Recos allows the use of usual French medical terminology for every search. The specific search engine automatically links usual medical vocabulary with the corresponding Medical Subject Headings (MeSH, the Medline thesaurus).

3. Updates, for access to recent developments in the therapeutic recommendations and the rational use of recommended drugs.

- Free text search of French published recommendations via CISMEF.

- Free text search of non-French published recommendations via major medical databases worldwide: CMA Infobase; Intute; NGC; NHS and PubMed.

- In-depth searches around key words automatically linked to the search term entered.
